Feb.22-23 First day of Holiday – Went to School to check on materials and to see what could be done to make the administrative office more accommodating for the 1st Grade which is using it until they finish the 1st and 2nd Grade building around late April or early May. The class is half over for the year and it is packed full of building materals, administrative materials etc., etc--. We will move out building equipment. I stacked all the adm. materials in 1/3 cabinet space to allow Miriam room to empty some of her stacked up boxes. She will have more space to develop learning centers for the children.
The builder is to replace the 3 classroom doors. I couldn’t get them unlocked or locked again yesterday. Dry wood is difficult to find much of the year and doors are hard to fit properly anytime. It took 4 of the builders from the school to get them opened and then locked again! A carpenter has done a fabulous job of making building blocks for us. Spent Tuesday afternoon making drawings for balance beams, seesaws, and ramps for physical exercise. Ordered mats for the Kindergarten and hope the other classes will want them also for group times. Doors still not fixed!
Willeke has her gardeners planting pretty blue flowering shrubs all across the length of the building. NICE
Bathrooms are not quite finished. Coming in near future hopefully, so I can have 2 cups of tea or coffee in the mornings instead of just a scant one!s
I love getting the comments to my blog. Please keep them coming they really mean a lot to me.

  1. Hi, Dorothy, I am LOVING reading your blog! I haven't been there since the school has been built, but I can still envision so much of what you are writing and remember vividly the flurry of activity in getting the request ready for the grant request to FPC, Gastonia! The fax machine that wasn't working and the impdending 5 pm deadline? Running to Staples to try and fax from there. Not working.....coming back to the Presbytery office, leaving a voice message at FPC, begging for some grace in the deadline since I'd done everything humanly possible to get the grant in. Most of all, tracking you down to be the member sponsor of the request!!! God was truly active that day. There was definitely a bigger plan than I could have imagined back then. Isn't it amazing how God uses all of our life experiences and then puts them together in a different way for something new? Hugs to Willeke, well, maybe you can tell her I sent "groetjes" (little greetings in Dutch). Love to you, Ginnie

  3. Hey mom we are so glad you can get our messages too. This makes your being so far away soooo much better. Remember we look up and see the same moon...so look up and it brings us a little closer to you. Everything is going great here, Kristen loves teaching and Bryant has sanded the last two floors in the house. Ali is really beginning to show and feels a lot of movement. They are so excited..no name yet. We'll keep you in the know. Lots of love--have had lots of interest in your adventure and we keep giving people your blog address. You have to admit that it is interesting that you are doing such a great job of keeping us updated through this medium, since you were feeling out paced by the same medium just before you left. Love you bunches. Lynne

  4. Hi Dorothy. So good to read your blog. Always makes me smile. Here's to 2 cups of coffee in your future. You are such an inspiration to us all. Sounds like you are having fun and working so hard. How lucky are the children at Ebenezer School now and for years to come because you answered God's call. Have a wonderful week. Still cold here, but the sun has been shining!

  5. Hi Dorothy!

I see you are up over a thousand 'page views' now so the word is spreading, fast. I know your focus is on the good God is doing through you THERE...but I don't think you can overestimate the good God is doing through you HERE, either!

I got stuck at work last Thursday and missed Bible Study,so have no news to share from them; but I have been emailing with Paola Lowery; we are going to do our best to keep our relationship up with Primativa while you are away.

We love you and miss you and look forward to reading your every word...
